If it takes about 30 minutes to travel to and from an off-campus job. You would need to earn about $.90 per hour more at your off-campus job than if you worked on campus.
Also, according to the National Student Employment Association, First Generation Project, students who work on campus are more likely to persist in their academic studies. Through an on-campus part-time job, students become better acquainted with faculty, staff, and other students and more likely to feel like they are part of the campus community. Most students have much more flexibility in managing a work schedule with an on-campus job as compared to working off campus, both with class and athletic schedules.
